27-year-old man in Entebbe has been sentenced to 15 years in jail after pleading guilty
to aggravated defilement.
Simon Nkayivu was sentenced on Thursday by Justice Anthony Oyuko Ojok during the High Court Criminal
session at Entebbe Chief Magistrate's Court.
According to the court, Nkayivu, defiled the victim, a six-year-old
girl on October 9th, 2019 in Nsumbe village, Wakiso district.
The State Attorney Ramlah Damba told the court that Nkayivu sent the victim to buy him
toothpaste from the shop and when she returned he forcefully
dragged her into his house and defiled her.
According to
Damba, the victim who was crying informed the shopkeeper of what had happened
and Nkayivu was arrested.

Justice Ojok noted that at his age he should have protected the minor.
According to Ojok Nkayivu deserved a 15-year jail sentence, but reduced the two
and half years that Nkayivu spent on remand.
