Buyende police are investigating the death of 31-year-old, Adiso Madigo, a resident of Kalwaala
village, in Nkondo sub-county in a bar brawl.
Bars are supposed to be closed under presidential directive and also given the curfew, so the mere presence in and opening of a bar is a criminal offence during the period of restrictions for preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
It is reported that Madigo collapsed to death during a violent fight with Ben Gidonyi on Wednesday night. Gidonyi voluntarily surrendered to Buyende central police station and confessed to fighting the deceased.

An employee at the bar which was operating illegally told URN on condition of anonymity that the two men paid the
unidentified sex worker 5,000 Shillings each. She, however, says that Gidonyi
wanted to forcefully grab the sex worker from
the bar, which sparked off the fight.
Lovisa Namwase, one of the area residents, says that they
attempted to save Madigo by rushing him to a private clinic for
emergency treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
"He hit his head on a big stone outside
the bar and our efforts to save him did not yield anything," she said.
