It is alleged that Jyoginda accused Wambale of harbouring intentions of falling in love with his wife.
The house set a blaze.
Patrick Jyoginda, a resident of Nabukalu village in Jaguzi sub-county,
Mayuge district has been arrested over arson for allegedly setting ablaze the
house of his neighbour, Peter Wambale.
Two of Wambale's sons have been admitted at Jaguzi medical clinic.
It is alleged that Jyoginda accused Wambale of harbouring intentions of
falling in love with his wife.
The two have been at loggerheads for the past three months after Jyoginda
informed the village council on how Wambale had destroyed his family.
Wambale however, denies the allegations adding that Jyoginda has failed to
handle his matrimonial issues and resorted to a blame game.
"Jyoginda is stressed after his wife asked for a divorce and
instead of harmonizing his family matters amicably, he has resorted to blaming
me for the misfortune," he says.
Peter Balikowa, the village chairperson says that they have tried to resolve
the duo's disputes in vain.
"As the area
chairperson, I have played my part in solving the duo's misunderstandings in
vain as both of them fault one another of intrigue," he says.
Balikowa adds that "this case of arson is way out of my mandate and I have
decided to hand over the matters to police for further investigations,”
Rodgers Kapere, the Mayuge district Police Commander says that the suspect is
detained at Mayuge central police station and will face two charges of arson
and attempted murder.
