Egaro, 37, reportedly went missing from his home on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023. Two days later, his wife, Teddy Akello, reported his disappearance to Otuke Central Police Station under SD reference 15/03/11/2023.

This prompted a search by security forces to locate him. Egaro's lifeless body was found floating in the Moroto River at Elimakec cell in Oget ward, Otuke Town Council, on Monday. His remains were later transported to Orum HCIV for a postmortem examination.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson, says that the postmortem results released later in the day revealed that Egaro had been strangled to death and then disposed of in the river. Okema noted that the investigation is ongoing, and as of now, no arrests have been made.

Okema urged individuals with any information related to Egaro's death to come forward and share it with the police.
