Miirya Sub County Chief Interdicted for Misappropriating Road Funds

Bikuru was interdicted days after he was arrested for allegedly swindling 11 million Shillings meant for the construction of Nyambido-Rwemigali road.
Miirya Sub County in Masindi district Herman Bikuru has been interdicted for misappropriation of funds meant for road construction.

Bikuru was interdicted days after he was arrested for allegedly swindling 11 million Shillings meant for the construction of Nyambido-Rwemigali road. He was arrested alongside the district engineer Lameck Atugonza, Godfrey Kalubanga, the roads overseer and Julian Mugisa the roads inspector.

Masindi Chief Administrative Officer Mark Tivu confirmed the development. He said the interdiction is in line with public service standing orders which provide for the temporary removal of a public officer from exercising his or her duties while undergoing an investigation for misconduct.

Tivu however adds that the three other co-accused persons have not been interdicted because preliminary investigations indicate that they were lured into the act by Bikuru.
