The Mayuge District Engineer has been interdicted over allegations of incompetence.

Martin Kasule, the Chief Administrative Officer, has directed Fabion Wanjukyi to handover his office to Tom Mudimbo, an engineer in the water department.

During the monthly executive committee meeting held at the district headquarters on Thursday, Kisule said that Wajukyi has failed to ensure proper supervision of road works.

Kisule further accused Wanjukyi of failure to implement the district roads committee resolutions which called for facelift of all feeder roads within the district.

“Wanjukyi has been interdicted following his continuous disregard of the DRC resolutions that, instructed him to thoroughly work on all poor roads within the district. We cannot continue working like this, all incompetent civil servants under me shall be interdicted,” he says.

Kisule further advised Wanjukyi to file his Defense within two weeks.

Wanjukyi who spoke to journalists after receiving his interdiction letter blamed his troubles on political wrangles within the district.

“There are a lot of political wars in the district which deter technical officers from executing their lawful duties,” he says.
