Mbarara Residents Lose 50 Goats to Stray Dogs

Stray dogs are wreaking havoc in Karugagama cell in Katete Division in Mbarara municipality.

Idrisa Sengabi a resident says stray dogs are becoming a menace in the area because they have started entering people’s homes expressing their children to danger.

Hawah Kyomuhendo, a resident says not only dogs are threatening their lives but there also stray monkeys destroying their crops, which exposes them to serious famine.

Dr. Robinson Nabasa, the Mbarara Municipal Veterinary officer, says they have started drafting an ordinance that will guide and control animals in the city.

He says that after public sensitisation, they will kill stray animals. He asks Uganda wildlife Authority to capture and relocate the monkeys.
