The Mengo Secondary School Headteacher Fred Kazibwe has been accused of fraudulently claiming ownership of land.

Appearing before the Justice Catherine Bamugemereire led Land Probe, Dr.  Ernest Kirabo, the trustee of Sserwano Ssenti's Estate filed a complaint accusing Kazibwe of fraudulently claiming ownership of family land.

The Land in question is located on Balintuma Road at Kibuga Block 10 plot 50, in Ssenkaatuuka Zone in Bukesa Mengo.

According to Kirabo, Kazibwe was raised by Sserwano's family only later to use fraudulent means to claim ownership of the family land through Mengo SS Old Boys Club and eventually evicting the family members early this year.

Kirabo says that the land claimants allege to have acquired land from Obadiyo Kiriggwajjo who is said to have bought the land from Sserwano.

The Land Probe's Deputy Lead Counsel John Bosco Suuza told the witness that there are documents of land ownership and acquired instructions to survey the land by the claimants.

However, Kirabo dismissed the argument saying there were no transfers of documents to justify ownership.

Kirabo says that his family was approached by Mengo Secondary School seeking permission for their teaching staff to occupy part of the building on the piece of land. Kirabo says that the family consented since the vacant part of the building had become a hideout for criminals.

Kirabo says they were later surprised when Kazibwe came to them claiming ownership of the plot on behalf of the Mengo Old Boys Association.

He says that since then, conflict ensured when he asked Mengo S.S to take teachers off the land as they wished to resume full use of the land as a family.
