Mpigi town council authorities have abolished the use of garbage skips.

The residents were told to leave garbage by the roadsides which is then collected by the council garbage truck.

However, some residents argue that the absence of the skips could result into outbreak of diseases since garbage will be scattered in the town.

Margaret Naiga believes that some people defecate in polythene bags which they also dump by roadsides for the council workers to collect.

The town council has one garbage truck which collects garbage from the roadsides three times a week, but it occasionally breaks down resulting into garbage chocking the town.

The town collects over 16 tons of garbage on every collection day in case the work remains constant a week and garbage is dumped in a place which is yet to be filled up.
