Mukono police are holding a young accused of defiling two children from the same home. Twenty-one-year old Shadrack Watelo was picked up from his home in Lusera village in Nakisunga Sub County in Mukono district on Friday.
He is accused of defiling two girls aged 3 and 13 years of age in his neighborhood. The victim's mother says she received information from someone who had seen the suspect defiling her daughters in the bush.
According to the mother, her daughter was examined and found to have been sexually assaulted. She was immediately enrolled on the Post-Exposure Prophylaxis-PEP to protect her against HIV infection.
She says detectives interrogated the second girl who told them that Watelo visits their home whenever their mother is away and sexually assaults them.
She was also subjected to a medical examination, which revealed that she has a problem with her bladder was passing blood. Watelo has denied the defiling the two children, saying he only knows them as neighbors.
Agnes Lule, one of the local leaders in Lusera village has condemned the incident, saying it is the first of its kind in their area.

None of the officers at Nakisunga police post where the suspect is locked up was willing to comment, saying they are not authorized to speak to the media.
