Patients in Mulago Hospital continue to bear the brunt of the shortage of medical staff at the hospital, as the postgraduate doctors' strike enters its 13th day. The shortage of medical attendants was most evident when Uganda Radio Network visited Mulago on Tuesday. A lady in the labor ward was clearly in agony, shouting for assistance, with no one heeding to her pleas. //Cue in: iMusaawo #i Cue out: i#kinzita.i// The post graduate doctors went on strike to demand for increased remuneration and allowances. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Kezaala, called for a meeting between ministry officials and the striking doctors on Tuesday, but the meeting yielded no results. The Chairperson of the Postgraduate Doctors' Association, Daniel Zaake says the strike will not be called off until government makes a written commitment that the doctors' demands will be met. //Cue in: iToday #i Cue out: i#minister.i//
