Murder Suspect Remanded for Threatening Violence

According to Nabukenya, the suspect has been threatening her and other family members of severe consequences since he was granted bail by Masaka High court.
Rakai magistrate\'s court has remanded a murder suspect accused of threatening violence against the family of his victims. The suspect is Sadam Kajjuna, a resident of Bigando village in Ddwaniro Sub-county in Rakai district.  Kajjuna appeared this morning before Abdul Latif Nakibinge, the Rakai Grade one magistrate following his arrest on Wednesday.

He was charged with threatening to kill his sister Judith Nyamayalwo Nabukenya, over land. Kajjuna pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded to Masaka Central Prison. The arrest and subsequent protests of Kajjuna followed mass protests by residents of Bigando village. Last week, angry residents stormed Buyamba Police post demanding the arrest of Kajjuna for reportedly threatening to kill Nabukenya over family.

The angry mob later descended on Kajjuna\'s house and demolished it before the local authorities could intervene. Trouble between Kajjuna and his sister started after he was released from Masaka Prison in September, where he was on remand for two years for hacking his 96-year-old mother Nzerameresi Nyegaramire and 48-year-old sister Denavensi Nuwabiine to death.

Judith Nyamayalwo Nabukenya survived the dreadful incident after running out of the house. According to Nabukenya, the suspect has been threatening her and other family members of severe consequences since he was granted bail by Masaka High court. Asaf Mugisha, the son of Nabukenya says they have been spending nights at their neighbor Selevesto Bwogi\'s home for fear of being attacked by Kajjuna.
