Appointment
President, Yoweri Museveni has appointed Esta Nambayo, the new chief registrar of the court of Judicature.
“In the exercise of the powers vested in the President by Article 145 (2) of the Constitution, I hereby appoint Esta Nambayo as the Chief Registrar of the Courts of Judicature,” reads Museveni's August 7th letter addressed to Benjamin Kabiito, the chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission.
Nambayo replaces Paul Gadenya who was appointed High court judge early this year. Prior to her appointment, Nambayo has been serving as the Deputy Registrar of the Commercial court.
The Chief Registrar is one of the five top managers of the judiciary including the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, Principal Judge and secretary to the Judiciary.
The role of the chief registrar is to implement policies directives of the Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice and Principal Judge.
