According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Defence Spokesperson, Brig Flavia Byekwaso, the five officers have been promoted to the ranks of Brigadier General and Major General respectively.

President Museveni has promoted five more senior Uganda People’s
Defence Forces (UPDF).
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Defence Spokesperson,
Brig Flavia Byekwaso, the five officers have been promoted to the ranks of
Brigadier General and Major General respectively.
They include Dennis Asiimwe who was promoted from Brigadier General to Major
General, Johnson Nsubuga Wasswa promoted from Colonel to Brigadier General and
Godfrey Sambwa Kimbowa who was also promoted from Colonel to Brigadier General.
Brig Asiimwe has been the commandant of Lugazi based Uganda Military Engineering
college-UMEC.
The others are Edson Muhanguzi who was promoted from Colonel to
Brigadier General and Frank Kyakonye also promoted from Colonel to Brigadier
General.
This
is the second time the President is promoting senior army officers. In May, 39
other senior officers were promoted to the rank of General. Seven of the
officers were promoted to the rank of Major General while 32 others were
promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, one of whom was a female.
