Members of Parliament Paul Mwiru and Gerald Karuhanga of Jinja East constituency and Ntungamo Municipality respectively have said that they will not join Kyandondo East Member of Parliament’s political organization.

Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine on Wednesday announced he had joined the National Unity Platform- NUP a political party which was founded and registered in 2004 by Nkonge Kibalama.

Mwiru and Karuhanga who are close allies to Kyagulanyi’s People Power movement recently decided to join Mugisha Muntu’s Alliance for National transformation- ANT.

Mwiru says that a well registered and structured political party NUP will not only help Kyagulanyi to make reliable and informed decisions but also create confidence in his would-be allies like ANT.

He also reiterated the fact that the fate of his relationship with Kyagulanyi can’t be determined by the mere creation of a new political party.

Karuhanga also said that yesterday’s events were only a formalization of events that have been taking place and the move is only meant to simplify the struggle for better governance.

He noted that although he doesn’t plan to join Kyagulanyi’s political party, he is optimistic that both the ANT and NUP will work together for the long term common goal.
