Nathan Nabeta, the former Board Chairperson of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation has blamed the poor performance over the national broadcaster on bureaucratic processes in management.

Speaking during the hand over to the incoming UBC board chairperson Simon Kaheru this afternoon, Nabeta said UBC has inherent problems since it is a government institution, where certain procedures must be followed.

He says despite being a government corporation, there is need for government to give UBC a leeway to adapt to the business environment

According to Nabeta, the biggest challenge facing UBC is inadequate funding. He says the UBC management can neither retire staff nor improve on its content due funding gaps.
