There is an escalation of HIV infections in Nakaloke town council in Mbale District, health authorities have warned.

Faridah Namatome, the Clinical Officer in Charge of Nakaloke Health center IV, says on average they record eight new cases each week.

Apparently, truck drivers destined for South Sudan stopover in Nakaloke town council for a night before proceeding with their journey. Nakaloke Town Council is found along the busy Mbale-Soroti Highway. 

Imam Mafabi wants government to put some measures to protect young girls from the truck drivers and business people.
