Police in Nakapiripirit district are investigating the death
of a 40-year-old man after a quarrel with a
neighbour.
Jonario Nangiro, a resident of Arechek village allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a mosquito net on Thursday. The incident followed a prolonged quarrel between Nangiro
and his neighbour identified as Lotee, along with Lotee's wife, Nakee Christine.
It is reported that the quarrel started last week and
resumed on Wednesday.
Nangiro, feeling overwhelmed, attempted to swallow poison
called "Rat-Rat" but was stopped by the community members.
Nangiro was found hanging on the tree by his wife Josephine
Logiel who informed the neighbors. The neighbours attempted to rescue Nangiro
but were unsuccessful since it was late.
Santina Nachuge, the sister of the deceased reported
the matter to Tokora police post for further management.

Spokesperson confirmed the incident stating that a team of detectives had
already visited the scene and documented it for further management.
He added that they have also recorded relevant statements
from the eyewitnesses to aid their investigations.
This comes nearly a week after a similar incident where a 12-year-old
boy was found hanging dead on a tree in the neighbouring district of Amudat.
