In his first message, Bishop Baluku said his main focus will be on building an integrated ministry that shall address the spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs of the people with the expected results of transforming individuals, congregations and communities.
Rev. Canon. Nason Baluku has been enthroned as the new Bishop
of South Ruwenzori Diocese in Kasese District.
He was officially installed by
the Archbishop of Church of Uganda Most Rt. Rev Dr. Stephen Kazimba

Bishop Baluku takes over from Bishop Jackson Nzerebende Thembo following his
election in August by the Church of Uganda-House of Bishops. Nzerebende
voluntarily retired after serving for 17 years.
In his first message, Bishop
Baluku said his main focus will be on building an integrated ministry that
shall address the spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs of the people
with the expected results of transforming individuals, congregations and
communities.
Baluku also mapped out core strategic areas he will focus on
including among others strengthening the mission and evangelism through opening
church ministries and improving socio-economic development through resource
mobilization and productive investment.

He also pledged to improve on the quality
of education in church founded institution, roll out plans for the
establishment of Rwenzori Anglican University and build leadership capacity.

Speaking at the event, the Archbishop Stephen
Kazimba Mugalu applauded the out-going Bishop for spear-heading the church to a
new level. The Bishop also called upon Christians to be tolerant and shun
all kind of violence, especially during elections.
