West Buganda Diocese will have a new Bishop by June 1, Rev Canon Enock Muwanguzi, the Spokesperson of West Buganda Diocese has said.

The declaration follows a six months search for a Bishop to take over the diocese which has been operating in a vacuum following the demise of Rt. Rev Godfrey Makumbi, who succumbed to cancer last year.

The search was mounted by an Electoral College set up by the caretaker Bishop Rt. Rev Jackson Matovu, in October last year to nominate two persons from among whom a bishop would be elected. The Electoral College is made up of nine Christians and five Clergy.
