Busoga East Region police have arrested nine commercial sexual workers believed to have participated in the murder of 40-year- old, Moses Obita in Iganga municipality.

Obita, a resident of Kasolo village in Bulamagi Sub County, in Iganga district was killed in one of the lodging rooms at Shooter’s pub on Sunday night. He is suspected to have been stabbed to death by sex workers at the Pub, who were earlier on seen taking alcohol with him.

A waitress, who spoke to URN on condition of anonymity, says that Obita seems to have had a good time with the suspects before he met his death. She explained that although they have never registered a fatal incident at their pub, sex workers normally fight with clients who fail to pay for the services offered to them by the sex workers.

The Busoga East Police Commander, Anatolli Katungwesi says that they tracked down the suspects in their hideouts in the outskirts of Iganga town. He, however, says that the prime suspect is still at large.

Katungwesi says that the postmortem report confirms that Obita succumbed to excessive bleeding. Police have handed over the deceased’s body to his relatives for burial.
