NRM Candidate Defeated in Buhweju District LCV Race

In Bushenyi District, the incumbent LCV Chairperson Jaffar Basajjabala was re-elected after garnering 48,078 votes against Moses Bandeeba of the FDC party who polled 9,723 votes.
National Resistance Movement’s John Juvenal Asiimwe has been defeated in the Buhweju District LCV Chairperson elections. He lost to Deo Atuhaire an Independent candidate who garnered 21,026 votes against Asiimwe’s 16,771 votes.  The other candidate FDC’s Novias Ahereza polled 270 votes.

Atuhaire, who lost in the NRM party primaries, chose to contest as an independent candidate.

Shortly after his declared winner, Atuhaire asked his rival to accept defeat and work together.

In Bushenyi District, the incumbent LCV Chairperson Jaffar Basajjabala was re-elected after garnering 48,078 votes against Moses Bandeeba of the FDC party who polled 9,723 votes.

In Rwampara District, Richard Owomugasho retained the LCV Chairperson seat with 22,035 votes. He defeated Godson Zabashaija, an Independent candidate who got 11160 votes, Onesmus Tayebwa of the National Unity Platform-NUP got 313 votes only.

In Mbarara District, National Resistance Movement’s Didas Tabaro was declared the winner for Mbarara District LCV Chairperson seat. Tabaro got 20,583 votes defeating an independent candidate Twogyirwe Kururagyire who got 18,564 votes.
