There was drama at the National Forestry Authority-NFA playgrounds in Mvara Ward in Arua Municipality during a planning meeting convened by the National Resistance Movement-NRM party on Thursday morning.
The NRM party members had converged at the playground to strategize for their candidate ahead of the Arua municipality parliamentary by-elections. Initially, the party members were expected to converge at Crane Resort but the organisers relocated the meeting to the playground, which didn't go down with some members.
They accused the organisers and Arua district NRM party officials of undermining the people of Mvara by taking them to 'the bush' and only giving them half of the meat they had been promised instead of a bull.
The organisers tried to provide a he goat to calm down the angry party members in vain. They went ahead to pour the meat that was placed in the saucepans for preparation and walked away.

Some of the NRM party mobilizers exchanged bitterly with Arua District NRM party Vice Chairperson, Joyce Amaguru and threatened to throw out the entire executive for gross mismanagement of the party affairs.
Dickson Adomati alias Disoo, a Senior NRM mobilizer asked the angry NRM members to demand total transparency from their leaders in the management of resources for the upcoming by-elections.

Cue out: stopping me from talking …"
Jackson Dratibi, the Mvara Ward Councilors and Chairperson Arua Municipality Elder's League, says he was also surprised by the arrangements of the meeting despite his position in the party.
He wondered why they were sidelined in organizing the meeting instead of bringing people from elsewhere to manage their meeting.
