More than 30 members of the National Resistance Movement-NRM youth league in Arua Municipality have rejected the party candidate, Nusura Tiperu citing malpractices in the party primaries.

The aggrieved NRM youth league members, says they will seat and decide which candidate to support. The group was behind Swadik Angupale Angule, the first runner up in the NRM primary elections.

On Sunday, the aggrieved party members convened a press conference at Mvara Ward in Arua Municipality. Rajab Arafat, the Arua Municipality NRM Youth General Secretary, says they are dissatisfied with the results from the party primaries.

The Arua municipality MP bi election is scheduled for August 15, 2018. The elections follow the brutal assassination of Ibrahim Abiriga, the incumbent MP last month. 

Abiriga was gunned down together with his brother Saidi Buga as they returned home in Kawanda to break their fast.
