Ntungamo district stadium is in a sorry state. Ntungamo district stadium is found in Rubaare town council.  It was built in the 1990s. However, part of its perimeter wall has since collapsed giving residents a chance to graze animals in the facility.

The gates of the stadium were vandalized and taken away. Felix Katungi, a local footballer in Rubaare town, says currently they have to compete for space in the sports facility with animals.

According to Katungi, their efforts to chase away people grazing animals in the stadium haven't yielded results. "What we used to call a district stadium is now a grazing ground and the authorities seem unbothered about its state" said Geoffrey Ayebare, a sports lover in Rubaare town council.

Denis Singahache, the Ntungamo LC V Chairperson, says it is unfortunate that Rubaare town council where the stadium is found didn't take interest in maintaining it.

He says they included Shillings 80 million in the budget under unfunded priorities for renovating the stadium, but there is no money. Singahache says in the meantime the district leadership will provide security to keep away idlers, animals and those stealing bricks from the facility.

The stadium is not the only one in a sorry state in western region. Kakyeka and Kabale stadia in Mbarara and Kabale respectively are not any better. Vandals have targeted both facilities as they have been left to waste away by the authorities.
