Ntungamo LCV Chairperson Denis Singahache has denied accusations that he was behind the attack on the District speaker.

The District speaker Elijah Authaire and clerk to Council were on Wednesday attacked and pepper-sprayed by unknown people who forced themselves into their offices at the district headquarters.

Authaire and a section of councillors blamed Singahache for being behind the attack over political bickers.

Singahache said that although there are disagreements between him and the speaker, he can’t attack the Speaker who he describes as a friend.

//Cue out: …cacan't do that.”//

Singahache says that he is the political head and he is tasked to ensure unity and patience in the district.

Singahache had three years ago announced his retirement from elective politics in 2021, but he recently made a U-turn and said he will contest again.

Authaire has also expressed interest in the LCV seat.

Singahache denied bringing people at the district headquarters saying he has no money and cars.

Singahache says that he suspects a section of councillors had signed a petition to censure him.
