Nwoya NRM Party Boss Loses Finger Shortly After Night Campaign

Okello told URN during an interview on Monday evening in Gulu City that three unidentified men attacked him on Sunday night in his way back home. According to Okello, he was returning from Koch Goma Trading Centre where he also serves as the Local Council Two Chairperson.

The Koch Goma Sub County National Resistance Movement (NRM) party General Secretary in Nwoya district, Michael Joel Okello is in agony after losing a finger shortly after hold night campaigns.      Okello told URN during an interview on Monday evening in Gulu City that three unidentified men attacked him on Sunday night in his way back home. According to Okello, he was returning from Koch Goma Trading Centre where he also serves as the Local Council Two Chairperson.   

He narrated that his attackers who were dressed in black hooded jackets surfaced from a nearby bush along the path and grabbed him from his motorcycle at Corner Ladot Kal Parish in Koch Goma Sub County at around 11:00 pm.   Okello explains that he returning from the campaign rally of Judith Acan, the NRM candidate for the Nwoya district Woman parliamentary seat. He explained that his attackers demanded to know why he was supporting Judith Acan.  

They then assaulted him for several minutes until one of them grabbed his hands, inserted it inside his mouth and bit off his middle left finger and cautioned him to stop supporting Acan whose campaigns he is leading. He has since reported a case of assault at Koch Goma Police Station under Sd Ref: 05/21/12/2020.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, says they have commenced in the matter to get attackers. Bosco Odock Olak the Head of the NRM Campaign team in Acholi has decried the rampant attacks targeted at NRM supporters in the ongoing campaigns.
