One person is nursing injuries while two others are missing following an attack in Apaa Township bordering Amuru and Adjumani districts.

The injured is Bosco Okoko, 25, a resident of Oyanga Village. He was shot on the left upper arm and right side of the buttock with bows and arrows in an attack on their homestead on Monday evening.

Okoko was constructing a grass-thatched hut together with his brother Denis Oryema and their father Caesar Owot when about seven speaking Kiswahili struck.

Okoko told URN this morning that the attack forced them to flee their homes for their dear lives prompting the assailants to shoot them with spears.

Okoko says he managed to get away from the scene but fainted along the way and was rescued by a good Samaritan who carried him on a motorcycle to a clinic in Apaa Trading Centre.

Marino Onen, the Lulai Village Chairperson, which neighbours the area told URN that they have reported a case of missing persons at Juka Army barracks and Apaa Police Post.

He says that the attack has left residents in fear for their dear lives with many of them taking refuge at Apaa Trading Centre, which has enough security.

There have been clashes between the Acholi of Amuru and Madi of Adjumani in Apaa Township since the killing of Edward Idro, a resident of Zoka C Village in Itirkwa Sub County in Goro B village.

Members of Parliament from the Acholi Sub Region recently tasked the Acholi Paramount Chief, Rwot Onen David Acana II to intervene in the conflict in Apaa Township, which has dragged on since 2012.

The APG Chairperson Anthony Akol argues that the people in the area are suffering yet the world is silent about their plight.
