The body of an unidentified boy suspected to have been killed in a ritual sacrifice has been dumped in Ntangaala village in Luweero district. 

The body was dumped in the compound of Rose Nakanjako Sserumaga, a resident of Ntangaala village in Katikamu Sub County.     

According to Nakanjako, the minor’s naked body was discovered by her grandson who was sweeping the compound this morning. He immediately alerted her and later the LC 1 Chairman.

Nakanjako explains that her grandson first saw a dog eating something and went closer only to discover it was a human being. 

She says some body parts including the private parts, hands and legs among others were missing.

Samuel Kakooza, the LC 1 Chairperson Ntangaala village, says the minor’s neck was slit and so body parts taken, which points to a ritual sacrifice. 

He however, says they haven’t received any reports of a missing child from their village or nearby areas.

A team of police officers led by the Luweero District Police Commander, Ahmed Musakana dashed to the scene with a sniffer dog, which led them to the home of one of the residents. 

Musakana says they picked up the resident to help police in investigations into the minor’s killing.

In March this year, Pretty Susan Nakanjako, a nursery pupil at Gembe Primary School in Katikamu Sub-county was kidnapped and strangled to death.  

An angry mob reacted by lynching the Imam of Gembe Mosque in Luweero district whom they suspected of killing the 6-year-old girl.

Last year, Christine Namale Birungi a primary four pupil of Blessed Future Primary School at Ngabo village in Luweero was also found dead and her body dumped in a thicket. 

According to Annual Crime Police report, six cases of ritual murders were reported in 2018 compared to 10 cases in 2017 across the country.
