Betty Aol Ochan, the leader of opposition says they will mobilize MPs not to attend plenary as long as the state of their colleagues are unknown.
The MPs tried in vain to access MP Robert Kyagulanyi at Makindye
Opposition Members of Parliament were on Friday blocked from accessing detained Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi.
The MPs led by the Leader of Opposition Betty Aol Ochan tried to access Kyagulanyi at Makindye Military barracks in vain.
Other MPs included Allan Ssewanyana, Julius Ochen, Francis Mwijukye, and Gilbert Olanya.
Kyagulanyi was remanded to Makindye Military Barracks on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
On reaching the barracks, military police at the gate stopped the MPs and journalists and asked them to park their vehicles far away from the gate as they consult.
The officers in- charge then told the MPs to go and seek permission from the court-martial. Aol was the only MP allowed inside the court-martial.
At the court-martial, Aol was told to first seek permission from the Chief of Defense Forces David Muhoozi.
Aol says it was a delaying tactic by the UPDF to stop them from accessing Kyagulanyi.

Cue out…could have committed”//.
Aol also said that the country needs to be assured about the health of the detained MPs.
//Cue in: “But if we…
Cue out…not actually yielded”//.
