Over 100 Participate in Mayombo Golf Open

According to Bernard Baguma, the incoming captain of Tooro Golf Club, the tournament is held annually to commemorate Brig Noble Mayombo who died in 2007.

Over 100 golfers from different clubs in the country are in Fort Portal tourism city taking part in the 13th edition of the Mayombo Golf Open.

According to Bernard Baguma, the incoming captain of Tooro Golf Club, the tournament is held annually to commemorate Brig. Noble Mayombo who died in 2007.

Baguma explains that Brig. Mayombo, who was a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence at the time of his death greatly contributed to the development of the club. 

Baguma says they have already prepared a number of prizes for the winners, just like they have always done since the start of the Open in 2007. 

Brig. Mayombo died from Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi. According to doctors, he succumbed to severe pancreatitis. During his burial in Kijura, Kabarole district, President Kaguta Museveni told mourners that a probe team would investigate his death.



However, the probe committee finished its investigations and handed its report to the president, but it has never been made public
