Kiiza, the head pastor at United Miracle Church was picked up by police detectives last evening on accusations of assaulting Katalina Nyangoma, a resident of Kiboni village in Kicwamba ward, Mparo Division.
Police in Hoima has arrested a pastor identified as Emmanuel Kiiza, 46, for
alleged assault.
Kiiza, the head pastor at United Miracle Church, was picked up by police detectives
on Tuesday evening on accusations of assaulting one Katalina Nyangoma,
a resident of Kiboni village in Kicwamba ward, Mparo division.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson says that Kiiza, in the company of police officers attempted to
forcefully evict Nyangoma and her grandchildren from a contested piece of
land in Kiboni Village on Monday.
Kiiza and Nyangoma have been feuding over the land in question. The matter is already before Masindi High Court.
Hakiza says Kiiza used a fake court eviction order to evict Nyangoma. However, in an attempt to resist the eviction, Nyangoma was allegedly beaten and injured by the pastor.

Earlier, police picked up five people on charges of malicious
damage after they slashed several banana plantations on the disputed piece of land
on the directive of Pastor Kiiza.
