The opposition Forum Democratic Change-FDC Party leaders and supporters, have reiterated their decision to defy the Covid-19 preventive guidelines issued by the Health Ministry, saying they are aimed at curtail their efforts to take power in the country.  

Patrick Oboi Amuriat, the FDC Party President, says the restriction are meant to curtail opposition party activities at the expense of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM Party.  

He disclosed this during the celebration of the reunion between Reagan Ronald Okumu and Christopher Acire, both senior FDC party members who have been at logger heads since the 2016 Aswa County parliamentary elections.  

Acire lost to Okumu, which triggered a feud the two politicians. The ceremony was held at Acire’s residence in Laliya Parish in Layibi-Bardege Division Gulu City attracted over 400 party officials and supporters. 

Amuriat, who neither wore a face mask nor observed social distancing, was accompanied by other party leaders including Betty Aol Ocan, the Leader of Opposition, Michael Lakony, Amuru LC 5 Chairperson, Reagan Ronald Okum, Aswa County MP and PP Ojara Okin, the Chairperson Acholi Parliamentary Group.
