Pictorial: First Hoima City Mayor Sworn in.

On Friday 14th of May 2021, Brian Kaboyo, the first ever Hoima City Mayor was duly sworn in.

During the swearing-in Ceremony, various Councilors were also sworn. The swearing-in ceremony for Hoima City mayor and the Councilors took place at Hoima Buffallo Hotel in Hoima City.

The Swearing-in ceremony was presided over by David Sayuni, the Hoima Chief Magistrate who also presided over the administration of the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of the Mayor at Hoima Buffallo Hotel in Hoima City.   

Kaboyo, of the National Resistance Movement-NRM Party, won the hotly contested Hoima City Mayoral seat on January 20, 2020 after garnering 12,451 votes beating the Incumbent Mayor Grace Mary Mugasa who contested as an independent candidate and three other candidates.

The other candidates in the race were Dan Kaija of Uganda People‚Äôs Congress-UPC who had 315 votes, Rashid Tumusiime of the National Unity Platform who managed 303 votes and Wyclif Tumusiime of the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC who came last with 215 votes.
