Pictorial: Hundreds Join the Joint Way of the Cross in Gulu

The cross was picked from Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bardege –Layibi Division and was taken to St. Michael Church Obiya an Anglican Church located along Gulu –Kitgum Highway at Pece –Laroo Division.

Hundreds of believers from the Catholic, Anglican and Orthodox Churches joined a procession for the public way of the cross marching through the streets of Gulu today.

The cross was picked from Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bardege –Layibi Division and was taken to St. Michael Church Obiya an Anglican Church located along Gulu –Kitgum Highway at Pece –Laroo Division. There were a total of 14 stopovers from the Holy Cross Church to St. Michael Church Obiya. At each stopover, the special scripture was read before delivering a brief sermon by selected religious leaders.

The religious leaders who led the procession alongside the fictitious Jesus include Godfrey Loum, the Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda, John Baptist Odama, the Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese, and Nectorios Kabuya, the Orthodox Bishop, as well as other clergies.
