Makerere University, the oldest higher institution of learning in Uganda held a grand ceremony Thursday to celebrate 100 years of service. The 1-year-long celebration climaxed with a ceremony at freedom square.

President Yoweri Museveni presided over the event that was attended by Makerere Alumni from within Uganda and outside Uganda, cabinet ministers, members of parliament, UPDF officers, and Makerere staff among other dignitaries.
