The Non-Motorized Transport Corridor-NMT that stretches from
Bakuli traffic lights to Entebbe road has become one of the busiest roads in the
Central Business District.
The NMT which is the first of its kind in Kampala and funded by the government
is meant to reduce congestion by giving leeway to pedestrians and cyclists.
However, the road is now being used by pedestrians, vehicles and motorcycles. Vendors and hawkers use part of the road to display their merchandise.
URN brings you the story of the NMT corridor in pictures.
