President of Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli attended the sweaing in ceremony of President Museveni.
Dignitaries graced Kololo Airstrip in Kampala as President Yoweri Museveni was sworn in as President of Uganda for his fifth term on Thursday 12th May.

Electoral Commission Chairman, Eng Badru Kiggundu confirmed to the different dignitaries from Africa and the entire world that Museveni emerged winner of the 2016 general elections, after challenging seven other candidates including Forum for Democratic Change –FDC party's Dr Kizza Besigye, Independent candidates Amama Mbabazi, Dr Abed Bwanika, Joseph Mabiriizi and Retired Major Benon Biraro.

Others are Professor Venansius Baryamureeba and Maureen Kyalya who attended the inauguration ceremony.

Some of the key diginitaries who appeared for Museveni's swearing in ceremony included present and past African presidents. These included Sudan President, Omar Al Bashir, Kenyan president Uhuru Kenya, Tanzania's president John Pombe Magufuli, President of South Africa Jacob Zuma, Edgar Lungu of Zambia, Idris Deby Itno of Chad,  Mohamadou Issoufou of Niger, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Ibrahim Boubabacar of Mali, Teodore Oblang of Equatorial Guinea and others.
