Uganda on Sunday joined the global community in commemorating World Wetland Day, marking the 54th anniversary of the signing of the Ramsar Convention.
The treaty emphasizes the importance of wetlands and calls for their conservation through sustainable use.
In his message, President Yoweri Museveni said Uganda was making strides in wetland restoration but emphasized the need for every Ugandan to join the fight against wetland degradation.
