The Police have arrested 11 suspected land grabbers in Sisa Sub-county, Wakiso District.
Those arrested are Emma Byaruhanga, Thomas Bwayo, Siraje Mubiru, Benard Musinguzi, Ian Mwanje, Deo Muhigi, Brian Mukiibi, Joel Buyondo, Muhamad Ssengendo, Charles Elagu, Stephen Ssenabulya.
Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire says that the group was arrested in a joint operation
by security agencies following a tip-off from the locals about a group of people claiming their land under the guise of being grandchildren of the twentieth king of Buganda.
Before the operation, the aggrieved residents had threatened to burn down a shrine that was under construction by the alleged land grabbers.
The operation, according to Owoyesigire, led to the recovery of spears, military fatigues and other equipment which the group members were using in their illegal activities.
They now face charges of
criminal trespass, destruction of property and malicious damage among others.

Meanwhile, the search is on for Kyobe Ssematimba, Brian Sserunkuma, Lawrence Walugembe, Patrick Musoke and another one identified as Mutebi.
The suspects, according to police were threatening residents of Sisa
Sub County practically Kagulu village with displacement off their
four square miles of land and claiming ownership on another 49 acres.
