Police Arrest Five More Over Busoga Murders

Police Deputy Spokesperson, Polly Namaye says thee suspected believed to be linked to the Allied Democratic Front (ADF) were arrested from Bugutya village, Bulange Sub County in Namutumba.
Police has arrested five more people in Namutumba District over the recent Busoga murders.

Police Deputy Spokesperson, Polly Namaye says thee suspected believed to be linked to the Allied Democratic Front (ADF) were arrested from Bugutya village, Bulange Sub County in Namutumba.

The suspects are Rashid Budhugo, a teacher Bunhaibamba Primary school; Abdullah Budhugo is an Imam at Bwayuya village mosque.

Others are Isiko Nabongo and Ayub Isiko both butchers in Bugutya village. Also in detention is Farouk Maganda an Islam preacher at Bugutya village mosque.

Moses Nabongo, the Bugutya village Chairperson LC I chairman police come and informed him that there are some suspects they wanted to arrest with a list.

The operation commander who did not disclose his name demanded the LCI chairman to lead the group of police officers to the homes of five suspects which he did.

Nabongo says the five would move from village to village spreading the word of the Quran in Bulange Sub County. The number of arrests in connection to the Busoga now comes to twenty. The five are yet to be presented to court.

The suspects are accused of murdering Sheik Daktur Muwaya, Tito Okware LC3 Buyinja sub county in Namayingo district and two police constables Muzamir Babale and Karim Tenywa in Bugiri district.

Those who have appeared in court are charged with 22 counts including crimes against humanity, 8 counts of aggravated robbery.
