Anti-Riot police fired live bullets and teargas to disperse rowdy supporters of National Unity Platform - NUP persidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine in Hoima on Wednesday evening.

Kyagulanyi was blocked together with hundreds of his supporters by police a few meters from Kyentale Primary school in Hoima East division where he was scheduled to hold a rally.

Police commanded by Micheal Ongica, the Hoima District Police Commander blocked and directed Kyagulanyi who arrived in Hoima town from Kibaale at around 6:20PM to stop leading his procession with hundreds of his supporters to the campaign venue since campaigning time had ended.

This did not go down well with hundreds of his supporters who started charging at the security personnel prompting them to fire live bullets and teargas to disperse the supporters who had turned violent.

This resulted into a running battle between the supporters and security personnel up to 7:30PM when the situation came to normal.
