Nandawula said on Wednesday that available information indicates that 42-year old, Aisha Kilabira is alleged to have been strangled by her client who later locked her up in Mawanda guest room.
The Busoga East Police spokesperson, Diana Nandawula has said they are hunting for a man who allegedly killed a sex worker in a guest house.
Nandawula said on Wednesday that available information indicates that 42-year old, Aisha Kilabira is alleged to have been strangled by her client who later locked her up in Mawanda guest room.
Kilabira's body was last evening found lying in the guest house, located in Nkono cell, in Northern division in Iganga municipality.
One of the employees at Mawanda guest house who spoke on condition of anonymity says that sex workers normally rent guest rooms on a monthly basis, with limited interference from the premise operators.
He says that the guest room door had been locked up from the outside with a new padlock without prior notification to the premise managers, prompting them to forcefully break-in, only to find Kilabira's body lying on the ground.
Kilabira's body was taken to Iganga general hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Nandawula says that Kilabira is reported to have been strangled before being suffocated with a pillow case. She adds that detectives have teamed up with both the guest house operators and sex workers in Iganga municipality to try and track down the suspect.
