Police in Kaberamaido Detain Woman for Allegedly Killing Husband

Grace Arago, a resident of Ararak village in Alwa Sub County, Kaberamaido district surrendered herself to the Police in Alwa Police Station on Sunday after realizing that her husband, Robert Epuku, 49 had breathed his last.

Police in Kaberamaido District is holding a 39-year old woman for allegedly killing her husband on Sunday morning.

Grace Arago, a resident of Ararak village in Alwa Sub County surrendered herself to the Police at Alwa Police Station on Sunday after realizing that her husband, Robert Epuku, 49 was not breathing after the two had engaged in a domestic fight.

According to the Acting District Police Commander Kaberamaido, Christine Nambhowba, Arago reportedly beat her husband with a stick until he died.

She explains that the couple had misunderstanding on Christmas day that led to a fight, but the matter was later resolved at home with the intervention of relatives. The DPC, however notes that the couple continued to stay together, but with challenges.  The couple reportedly went out on January 1st and got drunk.

Information from Alwa indicates that the couple drunk at a drinking joint from 8:00pm on Friday and returned home at around 3:00am on Saturday. At the drinking Joint, they were seen engaged in bitter arguments and the started fighting but were sent away from the bar.

It is at home that the couple is said to have continued fighting until Epuku was beaten to death. The cause of the woes in the family are not yet known.
