The police
in Kitgum Municipality have arrested 56 suspected gang members in an operation on Thursday.
Most of the
suspects were youths and were found in possession of housebreaking equipment.
According to Peter Oyesigye, the Kitgum District Police Commander, the operation followed concerns about crime in the area.

them here”//
He said that the suspects will undergo screening and those suspected of involvement in
criminal activities will be prosecuted.
Last month, 22 people associated with a criminal gang known as
"Aguu" were remanded in connection with burglary, theft, and public
nuisance. Oyesigye
emphasized that this operation is aimed at tackling crime
and insecurity in Kitgum Municipality.
