Police Investigate Death of Man Found in Wetland

Abdullah Maganda, the victim's brother, said that Nkwanga left for work the previous day but did not return home, causing concern among family members.
Police in Busoga East have launched an investigation into the death of a 35-year-old man, Anif Nkwanga, whose lifeless body was discovered in a wetland on Thursday. The body was found by residents of Busowobi village in Nakigo sub-county, Iganga district.

Nkwanga's body had wounds to the head and thigh areas, as well as strangulation marks on the neck, leading investigators to believe that he was killed elsewhere and dumped in the wetland to conceal the crime. Abdullah Maganda, the victim's brother, said that Nkwanga left for work the previous day but did not return home, causing concern among family members.

Maganda also stated that his brother was killed approximately one kilometer from their home, and he urged the police to investigate the motive behind the murder. The Busoga East police spokesperson, Diana Nandawula, confirmed that Nkwanga's body was taken to Iganga General Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.

Nandawula added that an investigation is ongoing, and those responsible for the murder will face charges once apprehended.
