Bundibugyo Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two family members on Tuesday evening. The incident happened in Rwakasenyi village, Burondo parish in Burondo Sub County.

According to available information, Issa Kato was found dead in the river Semuliki when his boat capsized while fishing. It is alleged that after the incident, Kato's twin, Peter Isingoma attacked their grandmother, Faith Kabonesa, and hacked her to death. He accused her of having a hand in the death of his sibling.

Isingoma then went on a rampage injuring two other family members and fled into hiding. Bundibugyo District Police Commander-DPC Aggrey Okum told URN on Wednesday morning that police are hunting for Isingoma and have opened up general inquiries into both incidents.  He says the injured are hospitalized at Rwamabale health center.

Sharon Katusabe, one of the eyewitnesses, says that after receiving information about the death of his brother, Isingoma turned against his relatives accusing them of bewitching their family.

“Isingoma did not believe that his brother has died in an accident on river Semuliki but instead accused his grandmother and other relatives to have bewitched him, we saw him entering inside the house and coming back with a spear and two pangs killing his grandmother on spot”, Katushabe narrated.
