Police Officer Jailed over UGX 40,000 Bribe in Moroto

Corporal Adolf Mbusa attached to Nadunget Police post is alleged to have demanded shs 40,000 for a fuelling a police motorbike.

 

Sekon Apanyetom, the complainant, told the Moroto Chief Magistrate Moses Mutazindwa Katorogo that the officer needed the money to carry out investigations and effect arrest. He further told court that that the money would help in processing the file.

 

Now, angered by the claims, Apanyetom alerted Max Lokabenyan the LC3 Nadunget Sub County, who photocopied shs 10,000 denominations and later gave them to the complainant. Mbusa was paid and later arrested as he rode to the fuel kiosk, 100 metres from the police post.

 

Later, he was charged for soliciting a bribe and sent to Moroto Prison till the March 11, 2013.

 

No. 42957 Mbusa if convicted faces a dismissal by disgrace from the Uganda Police Force.
