Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, says despite the fact that Zaake hasnt filed any formal complaint with Police, they are investigating the claims by the legislator that he was tortured by security officers.
The Criminal Investigations Directorate has opened up inquiries into the torture of Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake by security operatives.
The investigations come 15 days since Zaake was dumped unconscious at Lubaga Hospital where he is still admitted.
Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, says despite the fact that Zaake hasn't filed any formal complaint with Police, they are investigating the claims by the legislator that he was tortured by security officers.
He explains that it is because of the claims of torture by the legislator that the CID Director, Grace Akullo has advised him to go to Mulago National Referral Hospital for checkup by medical specialists.

The medics are expected to fill police form 7, which is returned to police as part of the investigations. The form can be filled by any licensed doctor who would be willing to testify in court if there is need, although Police usually prefers Mulago National Referral Hospital.
The doctors are also meant to advise police on what to do with Zaake who is wanted for treason. On Wednesday, Akullo visited Zaake together with Dr. Moses Byaruhanga, the Director Police Medical Services to re-emphasize the need to transfer him to Mulago hospital.
Kayima says the legislator will be loser if he declines to heed to the advice. "That will mean that investigations will slow down and justice will be delayed," Kayima said. On Saturday last week, Dr. Byaruhanga told journalists that they had examined Zaake and found with superficial injuries.
Zaake is one of the legislators who were picked up by SFC soldiers for allegedly pelting the president's convoy with stones ahead of the just concluded Arua municipality parliamentary elections.
Picture emerged on social media later showing the legislator in pain with bruised fingers, face and ears. Unidentified people dumped the legislator at Lubaga Hospital a few days later.
The investigation brings to five the number of cases being investigated in connection to the August 13th, 2018 incident in Arua municipality.
The five cases files include one for treason, the murder of Yasin Kawuma and Zaake's alleged escape from lawful custody.
