Police Probes Death of British Tourist in Kabale

Police in Kabale have launched investigations into circumstances under which a 60-year-old British national has died. Shukla Mukesh died on Saturday at around 5PM in Kyevu Butanda sub county, Kabale District.

Police in Kabale have launched investigations into circumstances under which a 60-year-old British national has died.

The deceased has been identified as Shukla Mukesh.  Mukesh died on Saturday at around 5PM in Kyevu Butanda sub county, Kabale District. The deceased together with three other tourists identified as; Tejal Raval, Nishma Raval and Kalvinder Barad were heading to Pygmies Settlement Area in Butanda sub county for a tour.

Denis Izongoza, one of the eyewitnesses says that Mukesh collapsed and fainted as they were climbing a hill in Kyevu and died while being rushed to the nearby Kyevu Health Centre II.

The police spokesperson for Kigezi Region, Elly Maate, says that the body of the deceased was taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem to help in investigations.

Maate also says that Mukesh's colleagues have told police that the deceased had a health condition which they did not reveal.

The deceased and his colleagues checked in at Bunyonyi Overland Resort on April 6, 2018 from Ishasha in Kanungu District.
